Minister Buys Lap Dances To Tell Strippers About God

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Ex-stripper Heather Veitch still goes to topless clubs -- but she's not looking for work.

She's looking for converts. The Southern California woman is spreading her evangelical message among an unlikely flock: strippers and sex workers.

Vietch, a 31-year-old married mother of two, is a co-founder of her own ministry, J.C.'s Girls Girls Girls. Veitch even pays for lap dances, so she can talk to the strippers about God.

Veitch used to be a stripper herself in Las Vegas, but then she embraced Christianity and decided to start sharing her faith with her former colleagues.

Now Vietch has her own ministry -- J.C.'s Girls Girls Girls--that she formed with two other women. They are trying to reach sex workers where they work.

The ministry's Web site features glamour shots of the three that were taken by a porn film director. They attend porn conventions, where they pass out Bibles wrapped in T-shirts that read Holy Hottie.

She has an ally in Matt Brown, her pastor at Sandals Church of Riverside, Calif. The 1,700-member Southern Baptist congregation is contributing $50,000 to her ministry this year.

He said her exotic-dancing credentials enable her to evangelize the hard-to-reach sex-worker population.

Veitch said strippers and porn stars don't have to quit their jobs before entering a church. She said, "Do we ask gluttons to stop eating too much before they come to church?" She added, sin is sin.
